Meghan Markleâs Spotify drama isnât over yet. The Duchess of Sussex was reportedly slapped with a scathing secret nickname by frustrated ex-employees who worked on Archetypes. Their claims fueled her alleged âdivaâ reputation.
In 2022, Meghan Markle launched her first podcast, Archetypes. The Spotify talker focused on exploring stereotypes and labels that hold women back. It lasted one season and 12 episodes.
However, while creating and recording the podcast, Meghanâs un-royal behavior didnât endear her to employees. Thus, royal correspondent Neil Sean told Fox News Digital that at work, the duchess was given a stinging diva nickname by her fellow employees.
âEx-staff members told me they decided to christen her âEvaâ and this was used as a warning signal to let people know that she was either arriving or on the warpath,â Sean said. âThis wasnât an engaging pet nickname.â
The correspondent continued, âThe nickname came from the 1955 camp classic Queen Bee starring the ultimate diva herself, Joan Crawford. This is because, like the Joan character [Eva Phillips], she stung her victims to pieces. This is exactly how staff felt about working alongside [Meghan].â

Consequently, Sean revealed Meghan was unaware of this stinging nickname. âAccording to the source, she had no idea about any of this,â he explained.
Royal correspondent Neil Sean isnât the first to speak about Meghan Markleâs reported bullying behavior. Vanity Fair and The Hollywood Reporter have called out the Duchess of Sussex for similar behavior patterns in the past.
Additionally, Sean claims the staff at Archetypes found Meghan difficult to deal with. They felt she was âtough and bossyâ and gave her a nickname they felt reflected her behavior. He added that Meghanâs actions contradicted her humble beginnings as a struggling actor before finding fame on Suits.
Sean isnât the only royal insider who has spoken to those who worked with the headstrong ex-royal. Insiders reportedly called her âDuchess Difficultâ due to her high expectations and strong opinions, a label Harry contradicted in the pages of his memoir, Spare.
Archetypes failed to take off despite curiosity surrounding the podcast. It ended on Spotify after Meghan Markle and Prince Harryâs production company, Archewell Audio, parted ways with the streaming giant in June 2023.
There were claims the show didnât meet expectations. Spotify executives hinted at a lack of consistent content, and one executive, Bill Simmons, even called the couple âgriftersâ to Variety. Ultimately, the show wasnât renewed, and Archetypes ended after just one season.
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have not returned to the world of podcasting. Meghan will premiere a new Netflix lifestyle series, With Love, Meghan, in March. Prince Harry is currently promoting his Invictus Games in Canada.
