Stacey Dooley has openly shared details about her domestic bliss with Strictly Come Dancing star Kevin Clifton, confessing that their cherished new abode is practically falling apart. The duo took a significant step in their lives when they decided to shift to Merseyside to be nearer to Stacey's mum, Di. After stumbling upon their ideal home online, the pair didn’t hesitate to make it their own.
Their little one Minnie's blossoming bond with her grandma spurred the family to settle into their new digs quickly, and since then, Di has become a core component of their everyday life – leading to a candid revelation from Stacey.

While chatting on the Parenting Hell podcast, hosted by comedians Rob Beckett and Josh Widdicombe, Stacey divulged some insights into their home dynamics, even revealing: "I don't really exist when my mum's around."
Expanding on Di's pivotal role, Stacey remarked: "She's really hands-on and if she wasn't on the scene, and I appreciate this isn't always the way for many people, I think I would really struggle. I don't think I'd be able to work actually.", reports Bristol Live.
‌
Elucidating the rationale behind their relocation, Stacey noted: "[It was] A mixture of reasons but primarily, she's our nanny. And I wanted the baby close to her nan and it's a lovely relationship to nurture. The pair of them are thick as thieves."
Despite the affection for their dwelling, Stacey acknowledged its state: "I'm doing the house up. I bought this really beautiful house but it's so old, it's on its last legs."
Stacey, 38, and Kevin, 42, found love on the dance floor of Strictly Come Dancing, clinching the title in 2018 and going public with their relationship the following year.
‌
Kevin, a professional dancer, shared with the Liverpool Echo how they stumbled upon their perfect Merseyside abode. He recounted: "Stacey loves looking at houses on the internet. Looking at interiors and stuff is her favourite thing to do. She came across something she fancied and thought 'oh it's not too far away from my mum'. We checked it out and as soon as she stepped inside she was like 'I love it and I can really see us living here'. It all fell into place very quickly and we're over the moon with it."
Stacey has been diligently updating her fans on the progress of their home renovations via her social media channels. In December, she flaunted her distinctive olive green decor amidst the ongoing revamp.
The television host has dubbed their dwelling her "fave place in the world". However, during a conversation with Josh and Rob, she admitted that the refurbishing process has been quite educational.
‌
She revealed: "If you want to put a light on the wall, you have to take the floorboards up. That's what I've learnt."
