The sketch, titled âOasis: The Reunion: The Movieâ aired on BBC One last night (March 21) and saw the actors, who formerly played Simon and Jay in The Inbetweeners take on the role of the Gallagher brothers.
It began by tracing their notorious breakup in 2009 to their reunion, announced last year, which â according to the film â came after Noelâs âcredit card maxed outâ and Liamâs accountant (played by money-saving expert Martin Lewis) informed the singer that he was âskintâ, resulting in the brothers both being told to call each other in order to get âbig moneyâ.
Once they reconcile, they begin arguing over the setlist and getting the band back together by calling âeveryone in Manchesterâ, including Happy Mondaysâ Bez and a handful of Coronation Street stars.
They then went on to poke fun at the bandâs ticket fiasco, with Piers Morgan as âthe ticket masterâ parodying the bandâs dynamic pricing controversy that made headlines last year when tickets went on sale.
The sketch also showed a fan stuck in an extensive ticket queue until they turned into a skeleton before reaching the checkout page.

Reaction on social media has been mixed, with some positive responses on Twitter/X include fans calling it âabsolute cinemaâ, âbrilliantâ and âlowkey funnyâ.

Back in 2021, Buckley did NMEâs Soundtrack of My Life interview, and revealed the first gig he ever went to was was Oasis at Finsbury Park in 2002. âThe first gig, and also the best gig Iâve ever been to,â he said at the time.
âThe support was incredible: The Charlatans, Black Rebel Motorcycle Club, Cornershop, The Coral⦠it felt like there were 30 bands playing that day. Doors were at midday, and I was like: âI gotta be there then, I donât want to miss Oasis!â
âI thought thatâs just what gigs were like, all the time. That night Oasis were the greatest band in the world. Watching them play live, it just completely made sense. A reunion sometime? I think if The Stone Roses reunited for a few gigs, then any band could.â
Now the reunion is a reality, NME has spoken to sources close to the upcoming tour, and revealed details of whoâll be playing in the band line-up. They said Andy Bell will be on bass, Gem Archer and Paul âBoneheadâ Arthurs on guitar, and Joey Waronker is set to be on drums.
